The weather is starting to warm up and the sun is staying out later. So now is an excellent time to get out an enjoy all that the Peninsula has to offer.
With the spring racing carnival happening all around Victoria, Mornington Racecourse is no exception. With races on every second week, there’s sure to be one that fits into your calendar.
Craft Markets Australia host markets once a month at Mornington Racecourse and the Briars. A great place to meet up with your friends, relax on the lawn, take in some live music and sample the street food vendors. Running for over 30 years, the Mornington Main Street Market is a weekly destination for many locals. The market is on every Wednesday from 9 am to 3 pm.
Take a class
There are several classes for kids and adults happening all year round. Join the Adult Photography Workshop for beginners or Camera Club for 8 to 12 years olds. Learn a new language like French or Italian. The options are almost limitless.
Walks and fun runs
The warmer months also provide the Peninsula with a number of public walks and fun runs. With a range of choices from location, supporting causes and distance, there is sure to be an event that suits your needs. Join the Mornington Colour Carnivale for a 5k fun run followed by a colour disco. Or test your endurance with at the Arthur’s Seat Challenge and race from the bottom of Arthur’s Seat to the top.
If you see me out and about at any of these events, come and say hello.
